Donna Cook's Obituary
Donna Cook was born June 6, 1960 to J.W. and Rose Barton and peacefully passed away January 23, 2024 at the age of 63. She was born in California, but a lifelong resident of Henderson, Texas after her family moved there in her childhood. Donna worked through the years as a housekeeper, correctional officer, at Walmart, and more recently at Henderson ISD in the janitorial department. She will always be remembered for her strong, independent fighting spirit.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Cook, her parents, J.W. and Rose Barton, sisters, Carolina Maxwell and Linda Casteel.
She is survived by her son John Burks, daughter Shelly Tamplin and husband Robert, as well as her grandson Erik Smith, brother Thomas L. Barton, and many other relatives and dear friends.
Donna's final wishes were to be cremated and a private family viewing. Her children will have a celebration of life at a later date.
