Donald Pearson's Obituary
Don was married for 45 years to Mary Beverly McCarty, of Wichita Falls, TX. While living in the Dallas, TX, area, they had three wonderful children: Christia, Katherine and Keith. The Pearsons then moved to Longview, TX, where Don worked for Marathon LeTourneau.
The parent company transferred Don and his family to Marathon Carey-McFall in Montoursville, PA, in 1976. Don and Beverly moved back to Longview, TX, in 1984, where Don started his material handling business, Pear-Tec, for the remainder of his career. Upon retirement, Don and Beverly built their dream home on Eagle Landing Lake in Avinger, TX, where Don pursued his passion of bass fishing.
His true passion, though, was serving the kingdom of God. He served as a deacon and many other roles at Oakland Heights Baptist Church of Longview, TX, First Southern Baptist Church of Lycoming County, PA, and First Baptist Church of Avinger, TX. He also participated in many mission trips and church building ministries in the US and abroad.
He is survived by a son, Keith (Sarah) Pearson, of Estes Park, CO; two daughters, Christia (Kenneth) Keyte, of Montoursville, PA, and Katherine (Kevin) Stabler, of Trout Run, PA; four granddaughters, Jennifer Keyte, Allison Keyte, Lyndsey Keyte, Amy (Ryan) Mattie; three grandsons, Alexander Pearson, Joshua Pearson, and Lucas Pearson; and six great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly, in 2004, and his second wife, Jean, in 2025; his parents, Harold and Gladys Pearson; a brother, Thomas Pearson; and a grandson, Jeffrey Stabler.
In keeping with Don's wishes, services will be held later at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville, and Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests tribute contributions can be made in memory of Donald Pearson to the Parkinson's Foundation, https://www.Parkinson.org, or sent to 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 3312
