Donald Joe Long's Obituary
Donald Joe Long, age 80, of Longview, passed away at home April 8, 2012 with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 12, 1931 in Osage, OK to James and Mary Long. As a child the family moved to Odessa, TX where Joe attended local schools and graduated from Odessa high school.
Among his other talents Joe was a home builder and then for ten years he was the manager of the La Quienta Inn in Odessa. He was a true dessert connoisseur. In his younger years Joe enjoyed buying and trading cars of all kinds.
He faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church. Joe's life was his family and the Lord and he loved them all dearly.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Clara Colleen Long, children, Joe Dean Long and his wife Debbie, Teresa Ann Beck and her husband Dwane, brother, Earl Long and his wife Pat, sister, Shirley Foil and her husband Barry, grandchildren, Scott Beck and his wife Sonia, Brian Beck and his wife Jessica, Kristen Fagan and her husband Jimmy, Lindsay Pavlas and her husband Davin, 4 great-grandsons, 4 great-granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded is passing by his parents James and Mary Long, sister, Louise and brother, Jimmy.
There will be a time of visitation Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Wolfforth, TX from 5pm-7pm then funeral services Friday, April 13, 2012 at the funeral home starting at 11am. Interment will follow services at Hesthaven Cemetery in Lubbock.
