Dona Jeanne Johnson Stovey's Obituary
Dona Jeanne Johnson Stovey of Longview was born January 21, 1927 in Madison, Wisconsin to Lavern (L.C.) and Harriet Welcher Johnson. She was one of three children born to the couple. She had two brothers: Thomas and Ted.
Dona married Paul Richard Stovey, June 9, 1945 and to this union five children were born: Thomas, John, Paula, Patricia and Pamela.
She spent most of her life in Madison and Longview and worked in retail sales. Most people in the Longview area remember Dona as “The Birthday Lady” at McDonald’s Restaurant at Judson Rd and Loop 281 in Longview where she retired as Party Hostess after sixteen years of service.
Dona was a member of First United Methodist Church, Longview, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and one son, Thomas. Dona is survived by and leaves to mourn her passing: four children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
There will be a time of visitation from 2:30pm-4pm Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
