Dear Family,
I know you are all blessed with precious memories, but I have several myself. Don was a character. He would ride his bike over to our house. We have spent many hours talking baseball cards. And, if you do not know, I have bought many from him. He enjoyed getting our Nolan Ryan Rookie card, but he had more fun getting me a Ricky Henderson card for $100.00, then Ricky getting into trouble. He loved hearing me gripe about spending money for his card!!!! I got him back though. I told him I had heard Armstrong was going to be a hot rookie to watch. He went to a big card show, came back with 100 Armstrong rookie cards. He told me about getting those cards because he heard he was going to be good. I told him me who told him. He said he could not believe he had bought so many cards, and I was his source of information!! He would tell me how he still had 99 Armstrong cards, thanks to me. The only one he sold was to ME. HA HA HA
Don also loved Matt. He was so proud of Matt in all his accomplishments in sports. He would brag about how Matt always took time to come talk to him. He said Matt would never fail to make it a point to come talk to him, even when he would have to leave his friends to talk. I always cherished those words about Matt. If I saw Don at any time, he would ask me how Matt was. When Matt was playing football for Texas A&M, Don was so tickled. It is special when someone loves your son and lets you know it.
My prayer and loves goes to each of you.
