Don Harden's Obituary
Don Harden, 89, of Longview, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2016, at Baylor Hospital-Grapevine. He was born on August 3, 1926 in Vasco, Texas to Farris and Gertrude Harden. Don grew up and attended school in Delta County.
After high school, he moved to Fort Worth where he worked for the Defense Plant building bombers for the war effort. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country during both World War II and the Korean Wars. After his military service, Don worked for Humble Pipeline, which later became Exxon/Mobil. He retired after 35 years of service. Don was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the greens. He had an amazing mind and was able to fix anything. He was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Mobberly Baptist Church. If you knew Don, then you knew how dearly he loved his family, the Lord, his church family, and many friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Kathleen Harden; son Jim R. Harden and his wife Donna; son Don W. Harden and his wife Amy; grandchildren Jim R. Harden Jr., John W. Harden, Shelby A. Harden, Ashley G. Harden, and four great-granddaughters.
