Dolores Wilkerson's Obituary
A celebration of her life was held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10am at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson Texas with Rev. Bill Kuykendall officiating. The family hosted a visitation on Sunday January 11, 2026 4-6pm at Rader Funeral Home. Dolores passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
She was born on July 31, 1938 in Henderson, Texas to Faye Louise Baughman and Horace Edward Dunn. She was raised in the Millville Community by her loving mother and her step father O.B. Clamp. As the oldest and great big sister, she was always looking out for her younger sister and baby brother.
She married the love of her life, Eddie Eugene Wilkerson, whom she was introduced by her best friend and cousin Hazel on June 7, 1956. They had a whirlwind romance even Eddie surprised her with a boat with her name on it.
They were elated to have their first born Gary Gene Wilkerson, followed by their son Eddie Dean Wilkerson, their late infant son Bradley Eric Wilkerson, and daughter Jennifer Dee Wilkerson.
She completed her degree at Kilgore College. Working in accounting, she worked with Pritchard and Abbott right after college. In 1960, she helped Eddie start his business Eddie's Paint and Body Shop, and worked together for a number of years.
Always up for adventure and fun as a family, they had a great time with horses, trail rides and such. Dolores was a great barrel racer on her beloved paint horse named Tar Baby D, even winning the barrel racing event many times.
Eddie and Dolores loved to travel in Eddie's airplane that he special ordered the upholstery in her favorite color. They loved to travel to watch their quarter horses run.
Dolores loved being a mom. She was an amazing mom, always cheering them on in all of their activities. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Women's Forum, loved attending the event Renaissance Gift Fair, and watching plays at the Henderson Civic Theater.
She gave her life to Jesus at a young age, and shepherded her children to learn about Jesus.
With all of her kids getting older, in 1980, she helped her oldest son Gary start Bout Nu Motor Company, which was eventually Wilkerson Trailer Sales.
She was delighted to become a grandmother “Mimi” to 4 amazing grandchildren— Rustin, Mindyn, Riley and Curran, and was always super active attending their events whenever she could. She was overjoyed to become great grandmother to 4 beautiful great grandchildren Myla, Caroline, Tripp, Tilly Ann. She loved them all so much. Best Mimi in the world!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Bradley Eric Wilkerson, her husband of 52 years Eddie Wilkerson, her sisters Geneva Heard, Cindy Dunn and Mary Grace Dunn; brothers Jerry Clamp and Randy Dunn, her sister in law Annelle Clamp, and niece Angela Clamp.
Survived by her children: son Gary Wilkerson and son Dean Wilkerson, both of Henderson, daughter Jennifer Wilkerson Schell and husband James of McKinney; her grandchildren: Rustin Wilkerson and wife Jessica of Montgomery, Mindyn Wilkerson Brown and husband Charlie of Flint, Riley Wilkerson of College Station, and Curran Schell of McKinney; her great grandchildren: Myla, Caroline, Tripp, and Tilly Ann; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
Pallbearers were Rustin Wilkerson, Curran Schell, Charlie Brown III, Kelly Stroud, James Eddie Pride, Greg Bruegger, Jerry Heard, Jeff Heard, Lynn Stanley, Joey Feil.
Honorary Pallbearer: Jerry Cook.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Millville Cemetery Fund, Calvary Baptist Church, or a charity of your choosing.
