I just found out about Dolores. I worked with her at D & H Insurance for 16 years. She was always my friend & so sweet. I loved this lady so much. I am so sorry for your loss

Dolores Carrington Newel was FIERCE. Not Beyonce fierce or Ruth Bader Ginsburg fierce, but good old fashioned FIERCE. I knew her at camp and watched her win just about everything---all while being that Far East Texas nice and looking beautiful. She was just a wonder. In fact, she almost made you want to b e a Bena. No one looked better in a chief outfit than Dolores. No one fought harder, had more fun and epitomized camp values. Her parents would bring her to camp in one of the Carriongton Motors big cars. It was such a better arrival than the city slickers who rode the train and got picked up in the camp truck. I am so thankful I knew her growing up, kept up with her through her good buddy Scovell and got to spend time with her when my grandkids started going to camp. I can't think of a more fitting tribute for Dolores than to contribute to the Camp Fern Legacy.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my buddy and good friend, Dolores. So soon after Keith's passing as well. I was hoping to see them both in November.
