Scott Diermann
I met Dirk when both of us began our careers at Big Brown as new engineers. Our careers continued to intersect until we both retired in 2016. Dirk was always full of life. He cared deeply about people and loved helping people learn and develop. I remember the pride and joy he expressed as Troy’s radio career developed. He was passionate about his love for his family. Dirk had a variety of interests including HAM radio operator, acting, and learning anything new. He was a great soccer official for many years. He was the Fairfield marching band drum major, leading the band multiple years. He is my favorite example of continuous learning. I will always think of Dirk and smile when someone says “Howdy”.
