Dick Grayum's Obituary
Graveside services for Dick Grayum 91, of Longview will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 10:00 am, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Brother Bobby Moore officiating. Mr. Grayum died on April 16, 2011 at Margaret's House with Beacon Hospice in Longview.
Mr. Grayum was born August 10, 1919 to Charles T. and Sadie Grayum. He was retired from Texas Eastman Kodak Company. Dick was a member of the Gladewater Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. His favorite thing to do in life was hanging out with his family laughing and having fun. He cherished his family and loved them with all his heart.
Mr. Grayum was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Frankie, his parents, three brothers, three sisters. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Those left to cherish his precious memory are two daughters and sons-in-laws Judy and Gene Pittman of Whitehouse, Texas, Dee and Jimmy Smith of Longview. Two grandsons, Rick Dollahite of Round Rock, Texas and Frankie Smith of Longview two granddaughters Rhonda Coleman and her husband Todd of Round Rock, Texas, and Angele Pittman of Whitehouse, Texas, sister Peggy Lebaron of Port Richey, Florida. The joys & laughter of his life were his great-grandchildren Mike Smith of Longview, Blake Smith of Dallas, Texas Cayman Coleman and Noah Shannon of Round Rock, Texas. Several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He touched many people and friends with his kind heart, gentle hand and a free spirit that will never be forgotten. Dick was affectionately known as "Dad or Old Dad", by those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed by all . The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Margaret's House Beacon Hospice doctors, nurses and staff for the wonderful care they gave our Dad.
The family will receive friends & family on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview from 5-6:30 pm.
Dick wanted to request than in lieu of flowers to please do something special from your heart for a friend or someone in need, "Pay It Forward".
