Diane Rice's Obituary
Brenda Diane Rice passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Longview, Texas. She was born July 20, 1945 in Pittsburg, Texas to Alvis Brooks and Evelyn Hooton Brooks.
She is survived by one daughter, Stephanie and husband Casey Jones of Longview; one son, Gregg and wife Sarah Rice of Parker, Colorado; six grandchildren: Logan, Landan, and Luke Jones of Longview; Ethan, Grant, and Lilly Rice of Parker Colorado. Two brothers: Larry and wife Dorothy Brooks of Burleson and Danny Brooks of Pittsburg; Three sisters: Sandra and husband Doyle Rust of Pittsburg, Nancy and husband Jim Jordan of Pittsburg, and Vickie and husband Charlie Holt of Longview; One sister-in-law, Ann Bishop of Mt. Pleasant and one brother-in-law, Paul Henderson of Pittsburg.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Rice, of thirty-nine years, her parents, her brothers Donnie Brooks and Richard Brooks and her sister, Debby Henderson.
Diane was employed by Skaggs for many years. She was known for her many talents which included painting, sewing, cooking, and cake decorating. Diane enjoyed being outdoors working with her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling, with her favorite spot being Estes Park, Colorado.
Diane will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Heartsway Hospice and the nursing staff of Longview Regional Hospital for their comfort and care of their loved one. A special thanks to Dr. Adam Yu and Kim Britton.
Visitation will be Monday, November 7th from 5pm to 7pm at the Radar Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 8th at 2pm at the Radar Funeral Home with interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Longview.
