Dennis Lee Carr's Obituary
Dennis Lee Carr age 66 of White Oak passed away at Heritage of Longview Rest Home August 13, 2013. He was born March 9, 1947 in Pontiac, MI to Burnis and Sophie Carr. It was there he attended local schools growing up and graduated from high school in 1965. On June 17, 1967 Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Lois. Two years later he enlisted into the army and served in Viet Nam. In 1983 he and his family moved to White Oak where he worked for the next 20 years with Carr's Construction. After that Mr. Carr owned and operated his own business "Maintenance Masters" for over 15 years. Mr. Carr served the White Oak community for many years on the White Oak Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and a faithful member of New Beginnings Baptist Church.
Mr. Carr is survived by his daughter Nicole Vandegriff and her husband Tim, son Tony Carr and his wife Iris, daughter Amanda Walker and her husband Christopher, grandchildren Shea Vandegriff, Taylor Carr and Olivia and Valerie Walker, his brothers Roger Carr, Richard Carr and Derald Carr.
Mr. Carr's Dear wife of 44 years Lois Carr, his daughter Krystine Carr, granddaughter Emma Vandegriff and his parents all precede him in passing.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation Friday, August 16, 2013 from 6 pm-8 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Funeral services will be the next day, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 3 pm at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Longview interment to follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the
White Oak Fire Department.
