Deloris Kay Cunningham's Obituary
Deloris Kay Cunningham, 81, of Longview, Texas passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023. Kay was born on June 7, 1941, in Longview, Texas to Louis Jeffrey Bennett and Mildred Estaleen Creagle Bennett. She was a graduate of Longview High School and Interior Design School.
Kay enjoyed many happy years of employment at Murphy Manor in Jacksonville and Longview, Trend Furniture and Interiors and of course working alongside her beloved Basil at Basil Furniture and Interiors. She was also a member of Red Hat Society.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mildred, sister Louise Anita Bennett Ph. D, and the love of her life Basil William Cunningham. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; daughters Lorrie Ford and her husband Michael, Lesle Thompson and her husband Tony, and son Bennett Browning and his wife Joanie. Grandchildren Amber Hefner, Garret Ford and his wife Cheyane, Gary Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Heath Thompson, Bennett Browning, and Emma Browning. Great-grandchildren Abigail Guzman, Micah Guzman, Katie Guzman, Kayson Thompson, Kynsleigh Thompson, Garrison Ford and Everlee Ford. She is also survived by Brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Richard Wilson U.S.A.F. and her devoted and beloved nephew Erick Sailor and his wife Jackie.
Kay loved Basset Hounds, celebrations, music, books, art, dancing, crocheting and wind chimes. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 3pm at Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview, Texas.
