Delores Morris' Obituary
Delores Oleta Faircloth Morris was born on September 3,1939 and passed away on November 28, 2023. She lived in Richardson, TX. Delores married David Charles Morris on May 29, 1971.
Delores attended Forest Avenue High School until 1956 when that school was redistricted and then reassigned to Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, TX where she graduated in 1958.
As a young woman, she was employed using secretarial skills for Cabell’s Dairy and Valley Steel Productions Company in Dallas, Bellcomm, Inc. in Washington, D.C., Sanger-Harris in Dallas, and the Rountree Olds-Cadillac Company in Shreveport, LA.
However, after she married David, she was a stay-at-home mother until after her children graduated high school. She was very involved and a leader for the Parent Teacher Association and she was an active member of the Texas Educational Support Staff Association.
Then in 1979, she returned to the work force and worked for the Longview Independent School District for 21 years. Her last position there and most satisfying is when she was secretary to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees.
Delores and David relocated from Longview, TX to Alpharetta, GA in 2000. Delores worked for Angelica Corporation for 3 years while in GA.
Delores loved her family and was a devoted grandmother. She made her home warm and inviting to others and always put everyone else first. Her family and friends will always remember her friendly and welcoming nature. She loved the Lord and shared that love.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Preston Faircloth, Opal Willeford Faircloth and Joaquin Oliver (Pepper) Garcia; her brother, Joaquin Oliver Garcia, Jr.; daughters, Katrina Petty and Melinda Manning; and grandson, Preston High.
Delores is survived by her daughter, Karen (Robert); her son, Blake Morris (Tawny); her sisters, Cheryl (Alan) and Linda; her sister-in-law, Debby (Jimmy); her grandchildren, Meredith Shockley (Chad), Phillip High, Alexandra Forney (Matt), Jesse Newcomb (nephew), Blake Morris, Jr., John Michael Morris, Joshua Morris, Matthew Morris and Sarah Grace Morris; and her great-grandchildren, Jordan (18), Sara Bailee (15), Audrey (13), Sophia (12), Ryder (11), Zenobia (8), Caleb (6), Isaac (5), Wyatt (5), Typhon (4), Easton (4), Lucy (1).
Mrs. Delores Morris was born on September 3, 1939 and passed away on November 28, 2023. Funeral services for Delores will be held Saturday, December 2 at 2pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with burial to follow at Memory Park Cemetery.
