Delores M. Davis' Obituary
Delores Mullican Davis (Nannie to many), Age 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022. She was born February 3, 1938 in Ferris, Texas to Perry Carson Mullican and Willie (Bill) Dema Meadows. She graduated from John Tyler High School in 1957. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, word search puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Omaha, Texas and loved her Ladies Sunday School Class.
She became a child of God in her mid 20's. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a servant’s heart and was very compassionate, giving, hospitable and always put others before herself. She believed that forgiveness was very important in our daily lives. Ephesians 4:32 - Be Kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband of 33 years, John D. Davis, son Mark Davis, daughter-in-law Shelley and granddaughters, Amanda Stone and Natalee Smithey Starnes, sisters Kathy, Jean, Tina and Joyce and brother Charles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Marla Johnson, husband Lowell, son Dee Davis, wife Cherron, daughter Pennie Anderson, husband Steve. Her grandchildren - Jeff Davis, wife Amanda, Amber Berry, husband Brian, Matt Starnes, Carson Anderson, Haley Strawbridge, husband Adam, Allie Walker, husband Adam, and Josh Johnson. Great grandchildren - Will, Carter, Julia and Noah Davis, Maddox Starnes, Elliott and Jade Berry. Her sister - JoAnn Smith, her childhood best friend MaryAnn Smith, numerous other family members and friends.
A service celebrating a life well lived will be held at 10 AM Saturday, December 10, 2022, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Bro. Nolan Richey officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-10 prior to the service.
Special Thanks to Chambers Hospice of Mount Pleasant. We would like to specifically thank her nurse and aide who took care of her daily.
