Delbert Thomas Holloway's Obituary
On Friday morning, December 25th, Delbert Holloway of Longview, TX, received the greatest Christmas gift ever given. He will spend the remainder of eternity with his Lord and Savior in complete health and in need of nothing. He was born on December 12th, 1929, in Haskell, TX. Delbert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Geraldine, and two of his three children: Kenny Holloway and wife Sandra of Longview; Paul Holloway and wife Leighann of Longview; his brother, Roy Holloway and wife Katie of Amarillo, TX, and was the beloved Paw Paw to his ten grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Delbert was preceded in death by his brother, Crawford Holloway, of Amarillo, TX, and son, Rusty Holloway, of Longview, TX.
Delbert grew up the son of a farmer and then served four years in the U.S. Army where he learned the skills of a mechanic. Over his career, he delivered mail for the U.S. Post Office, worked in manufacturing, and finally retired as a carpenter and house builder. His hobbies included: fishing, gardening, motorcycles, and "pickin and grinnin".
A visitation will be held in Longview, TX, at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Rd. from 6-8 pm on Monday, December 28th, 2015. A memorial service will be held at the church Delbert has attended for the last 8 years, Longview Christian Fellowship, 2101 West Marshall Ave. in Longview on Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 at 11:00 am.
