Del Morris Smith's Obituary
Del Morris Smith entered Heaven the morning of December 31, 2023. Del was born in Alex, Oklahoma, on August 27, 1935, to the late Essie Wilson Smith, and George Benjamin Smith. Del was also preceded in death by his older brothers George Smith Jr., and Reverend Gene Smith.
Del grew up with the love of his life Clara Horne Smith, and after graduating from Alex High School, they married. Del and his wife of 68 years have two children, Kevin Morris Smith, and Kristin Smith Halphen.
Kevin and his wife Lori Thompson Smith have two children, Lindsay Smith Loucks, and Matthew Taylor Smith. Lindsay is married to Chris Loucks, and they have three children, Tanner, Emma, and Brady. Taylor is married to Amanda Schwarz Smith, and they have three children, Lilly, Lula, and Morris.
Kristin and her husband David Halphen have two children, Scott Halphen, and Andrew Halphen. Scott is married to Rachel Jackson Halphen and they have two children Hannah, and Emily.
Del spent his career working with Otis Engineering, an oilfield service company where he worked his way up to sales positions, division management positions, and ultimately multiple company asset management for Otis.
Del and Clara retired in Longview after serving several years with Otis. They filled up their retirement years with travel, time on Lake Fork, and serving their church family at Mobberly Baptist Church.
