Debra Kay Stovall's Obituary
Debra Stovall passed away at her home in Hallsville, TX on October 18, 2023. She was born November 7, 1956, to Keith & Marlene Higgins. She graduated from Paul Pewitt High School, then obtained her BBA in accounting from East Texas State University. Majority of her career she worked side by side with her husband in their family businesses, Stovall Fab & Machine and S.E.I. in the Mt. Pleasant area for 20+ years before moving to Longview in 2003 and opening Longview Fab & Machine.
While attending junior high, she met the love of her life, Brad Stovall. They dated throughout high school and ultimately married January 8, 1977 in Naples, TX. She is survived by her son, Steven Stovall and wife Tiffany, daughter Angie Shelton and husband Chris. Grandchildren Cody Stovall and wife Kristyn, Chance Stovall, Garrett Stovall, Krislynn Stovall, Bailey Stovall and bonus grandchildren Payton Shelton, Ethan Cooney, Sidney Shelton and Addi Shelton, great grandson Ryder Stovall. She is also survived by her sister Dana Shankle and husband Marty, brother Dwaine Higgins and wife Barbara as well as nieces & nephew that she was close with. She is preceded in death by her husband, Brad Stovall and parents Keith & Marlene Higgins.
Debra was passionate about volunteering with Girl Scouts. She began volunteering before having children, then led her daughter’s troop and was a very active volunteer and Cookie Nana for her granddaughters’ troop. She also enjoyed volunteering with Relay for Life, traveling, spending time with family and decorating for and celebrating Christmas with her many themed trees.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview beginning at 10:00 am, officiated by Shawn Finley. There will be visitation with family Friday, October 20, 2023, at the funeral home from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm
