Deborah Ruth Crumpler's Obituary
Dr. Deborah Ruth Crumpler, Ph.D, RN, CCRN-K, age 76, of Longview, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1949, in Ottumwa, IA.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dr. Charles Crumpler; brother Kevin Haroff; sons Justin and Jordan Crumpler; daughters-in-law Sarah and Rachel Crumpler; granddaughter Lily Grace; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also eagerly anticipated the upcoming birth of her grandson, Dale Charles Crumpler, due in February. She was preceded in death by her son Jared Crumpler, parents Richard and Margie Haroff, and brother Rick Haroff.
Deborah dedicated nearly four decades to nursing and nurse education. She served as Nurse Manager of the Medical ICU at Good Shepherd Medical Center and spent more than 20 years at the University of Texas at Tyler as a Clinical Instructor, Assistant Clinical Professor, Assistant Professor, and most recently BSN Coordinator for the Longview campus.
A devoted Christian and longtime member of Mobberly Baptist Church, Deborah will be remembered for her brilliance, generosity, deep love for her family, and her passion for educating future nurses.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, from 1:00–2:00 PM, followed by a 2:00 PM celebration of life service in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Services are open to the public.
