Deborah Ann Auff's Obituary
Deborah Ann Auff passed away on March 27, 2025, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on October 8, 1952, in Longview, she was the daughter of Joseph Reuben Reel and Anna Lee McKinnon Reel.
A proud graduate of Hallsville High School, Class of 1970, Deborah maintained lifelong friendships with many of her classmates. She dedicated over two decades to serving Texas schools, including Hallsville ISD, Ser Ninos Charter School in Houston, and Harmony Charter School in Houston.
Deborah was deeply involved in her community. She contributed to numerous cookoff benefits in Houston and actively supported the Truman W. Smith Toy Run hosted by Outlaws Longview Bar. A passionate sports fan, she cheered faithfully for the Houston Astros and Texans. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and also proudly identified as a Blue Dog Democrat.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Auff of Houston; and Kenneth Wayne Moore, the father of her sons.
Deborah is survived by her sons: Casey Joe Moore and his wife Megan of Lake Cherokee, and Matthew Wayne Moore and his wife Brittany of Waxahachie. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Austin Wayne Moore (Waco), Dylan Matthew Moore (Dallas), Tyler Thomas Moore (Moline, Kansas), Mason Kyle Moore (Lake Cherokee), Denise Francis Gail Auff (Alvin), Skylar Elizabeth Gahagan, and Shyloh Johnette Gahagan (both of Waxahachie). She is also survived by her sister Brenda Small and husband Mike; brother Sam Reel and wife Phebe; and sister Robin Reel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Truman W. Smith Children's Care Center in Gladewater, Texas.
Deborah’s life was marked by dedication to education, community service, and family. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
