David W. Tubbs' Obituary
David Wade Tubbs was born on October 19, 1959 in Belton, TX and died February 29, 2024. He attended Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, TX and soon thereafter worked at Lone Star Steel. After later moving to Longview, he found his new work home at LeTourneau where he worked as a mechanic and Flander’s Electric where he worked as a mechanic in the A/C department. It was during these 25 years that he developed many life-long friendships. After health issues would no longer allow him to work outside the home, he spent countless hours in his shop creating, fabricating, and repairing projects for himself, family, and friends. David had a knack for being able to create something out of nothing and re-purposing any conceivable item. While his health would allow it, David was very involved with the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge 1396 and obtained the level of Master Mason.
In 1982, David met Kelly and they married in June of 1984. In their nearly 40 years of marriage, they developed a love for travel and were able to enjoy 17 cruises together. In recent years, they enjoyed weekends of camping at Lake O’ the Pines and making trips to Broken Bow, Oklahoma for peaceful weekends with nature.
David was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Jeanne, his brother Danny, sister Betty, and in-laws Ron and Johnnie McCune. Surviving David is his wife Kelly, daughter Audrey Hinton, sister Kay Attaway, numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews.
Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas on Sunday March 3 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will also be held at Rader Funeral Home on Monday March 4 at noon in the chapel.
