David R. Childress' Obituary
Services for David R. Childress, 39, of White Oak will be 4 PM Monday, February 18, 2008 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Brother Dick Stagner officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park in Longview. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. David passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his home after losing his battle with cancer. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born on May 9, 1968 in Gladewater to Donald and Patricia Childress. He was a 1986 graduate of Spring Hill High School and enjoyed working as an oil field supervisor for BJ Services in Kilgore. David will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, but most of all for his wit. He had the ability to make anyone laugh in any situation.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Childress of Longview; and his grandparents, Woody and Betty Bonner of White Oak.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kim Childress and son, Kyle Childress of White Oak; father, Donald "Bud" Childress of Longview; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Page Johnson of White Oak and Terrie and Tim McDonald of Hallsville; mother-in-law Laverne Smith of Longview; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
