My dad loved to video EVERYTHING so he could share it with everyone. He loved capturing special moments on camera and I’m so thankful he did because now we have so many memories we can replay on tape! He loved to prank people too and some of my fondest memories are of him prancing us girls! One time he set up a baby doll to spit water at people at a yard sale we were having. And yes he recorded it too! So many good memories and too many to tell here! I know he’s with our maker and we will see him again soon!
Memories - for starters, he was my dad. I always say I got my singing voice from him. I believe he sang more than he talked everyday. Always belting out songs and playing his guitar. He had a "jokestar" mentality as well. Growing up, we (my 2 sisters and myself) started to learn that when dad had the camera out and called us out of our room one at a time, he had something up his sleeve. He didn't want to spoil the fun for the other girls, so he only pranked 1 at a time. A few of his pranks I've even played on others over the years. He loved the outdoors and would've camped and fished every single day if he could've gotten away with it. He had a big heart and would always send us away with back seat full of apple butter, fresh eggs, dehydrated meat of some sort, and always liked to give the grandkids some fishing gear. I don't think I'll ever cast a line again, without him on my mind.
One memory always comes to mind when I think of Wayne. In the 80's, Wayne invited Sonny and me to go to a Hinson concert at his dad's church in New London. Wayne drove and we rode in the back seat. What an experience. We laugh whenever we remember it. He drove like we were going to a fire. We weren't wearing seat belts--not sure if the car had any. I kept sliding down in the seat, almost landing in the floor. We hung on for dear life, but Wayne was enjoying himself. But it was a great concert and we remember that night with fondness.
