Mr. David E. Leathers Sr.'s Obituary
David Eugene Leathers Sr. passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 surrounded by family and loved ones. He had fought a long, courageous battle against Cancer. He leaves his wife of 32 wonderful years, Cathy Leathers; his five children, David Leathers, Sarah Nixon, Rachel Leathers, Elisha Leathers, and Aaron Leathers; his daughter and son in law, Tiffany Leathers and Dwight Nixon, and his two granddaughters; Hayden Leathers and Taylor Nixon and a
grandbaby on the way. He also leaves behind two brothers; Tim and Jim Leathers and their wives, Anita and Fran, and family.
Dave who was born in Oklahoma, moved to Whitefish, Montana because of his love for the outdoors and skiing. There he met his wife, Cathy, who he loved and adored and they started one big adventure together. They loved to travel and make up plans as they went. They moved from place to place but always enjoyed life no matter where they were. Their love for one another was apparent in everything that they did. Even up to the last moments in the hospital, Cathy and Dave enjoyed one another's love and commitment to one another. Dave was beyond proud of his family. Everyone that knew Dave knew his children. He was an active father who would do anything for his children. He was at every practice, game, and event that he possibly could be at. He never wanted to miss a moment of their lives. Dave was most passionate about the Lord and was an amazing example for his family and friends. His heart was full of love and compassion for others and Jesus. When you met Dave, you couldn't help but like him. He would love, encourage and care about you from the first day he met you. If there was anything he could do for you, he would do it. Even though Dave is gone, he has left this world a little brighter because he shared his love wherever he went. We love and miss him dearly but are thankful for the man he was in all of our lives.
2 Timothy 4:7-8.
