David C. Hartman's Obituary
Funeral services for David C. Hartman, age 72 of Minden, will be held at 10:30am Thursday April 7, 2016 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday night at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm.
Mr. Hartman passed away Monday April 4, 2016 in Tyler. David was born February 26, 1944 in Washington Indiana to Howard W. and Betty Evans Hartman. He grew up in Washington, Indiana and graduated from Washington High School. Mr. Hartman was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Verizon a communications as an equipment installer after 30 years, and was a member or the Still Waters Cowboy Church. David spent his retirement years doing what he loved best, working on old cars, spending time with his grandchildren, and various crafts and home improvements. He loved to spend time talking and drinking coffee with his friends out on the patio or in the shop. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile for everyone. David never met a stranger and was always ready and willing to help anyone. He will be very much missed by his family and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother James R. Hartman.
He survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Hartman of Minden; son James Hartman and wife Areonia of Wilburton, OK; daughter Rachel Larson and husband Jason of Whitehouse; also surviving are six grandchildren, Kyle, Ana, and Emma Larson of Whitehouse; David W. Hartman of Minden, and Christian and Zailey Hartman of Wilburton, OK.
Pallbearers will be Matt Akin, Zack Akin, Chase Ponder, Bobby Richardson, James Boyd, and Keith Akin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Gooch, Byron Strong, Harlan Akin, Melvin Shires, Steve Amburn, and Junior Holmes.
