David Glenn LaGrone's Obituary
David Glenn LaGrone, 71, of Minden passed away peacefully at his home Friday July 13, 2007. Funeral Services will be held Monday July 16, 2006 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Brother J.W. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
David was born March 30, 1936 in Henry Prairie, a small community in Robertson County. He became a Christian at age 12 in Hearne, Texas and in 1954, he graduated from Reagan High School in Houston, Texas. In 1957 he became a member of the Masonic Lodge and in 1958 he was a Master Mason in Dallas, Texas. He worked for Centex Construction located in Dallas from August 1954 to November 1965. On December 6, 1965 he went into business for himself, proudly he was owner of Dave?s Feed & Seed Supply in Houston, Texas until he retired in 1997. David was a cattleman in Rusk County for 25 years until he became ill in October 2006.
He was beloved husband, father, paw-paw, uncle and will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by father, George T. LaGrone Sr, mother Martie Mae LaGrone, sister Georgia Sue Dunn, and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 29 years Judy, son, Mike LaGrone and wife Kathy of Minden, daughters Laura Shaw of Caddo Mills, Tammy Plumer and husband Ned of Lake Jackson, and Roxanne Medford of Shreveport, La., father in law Kenneth Rawlinson of Laneville, grandchildren Michael J.R. LaGrone and wife Morgan, Stacy Hunt and husband Jonathan, Andy LaGrone, Bryan Shaw, Cassie Shaw, Chet Dorman, Miles Dorman, Grace Medford and Faith Medford, two special nephews Joey DeLaRosa and Sam DeLaRosa, one great grandson Mason Shaw. Twin sister Pat Box and husband Bernard of Franklin, brother Tommy LaGrone and wife Judy of Montgomery, sister Brenda Greene and husband Darrell of Houston, brother in law Rodney Rawlinson and Peggy of Harlington, sister in law Janice Winkler of Henderson, aunt Rene Reeves and husband Frank of Abilene, Uncle Joe Fulton and wife Mildred of Minden and numerous nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be Bob Minton, Tommy Medford, Rusty Dorman, Gary Griffin, Gary Davis, Joel Hale, Steve Patterson, and Rodney Rawlinson
Visitation will be from 2pm until 4pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Education Foundation at Henderson I.S.D. in memory of David G. LaGrone
