Funeral services for David Cole Bussey, 94, of Longview will be held at Ten O?clock AM Tuesday December 21, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Dan Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Bussey passed away Saturday December 18, 2004 in Longview.
He was born April 26, 1910 in Longview, Texas to Nadie Bussey and Tera Killingsworth Bussey and had lived here all of his Life. He was part owner of Longview Hardware Company and a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he belonged to the Men?s Bible Study Class. He graduated from Longview High School and attended Texas A&M University. He was also employed by Gregg Ice Co., Southwestern Gas and Electric Co., Jewel T. Co., North American Aviation where he built P-51 Mustangs during World War 11. He was a member of the Jaycees, and the Pythians. He married Grayce Will Black on March 28, 1936 in Marshall, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Grayce Will Black Bussey of Longview, TX.; three sons and daughters-in-law, David Byron Bussey and wife Joyce of New Boston, TX.;
William Edward Bussey and wife Debra of Longview, TX.; Charles Bruce Bussey and wife Lori of Longview, TX.; grandchildren, Michael Bussey, Chad Bussey, Kelly Bussey, Casey Bussey, Zachary Bussey, Kenneth Bussey, Deanna Bussey, Ten great grandchildren, two brothers, James Leon Bussey of Longview, TX.; Charles McKnight Bussey of Longview, TX.; one sister, Nadine Thomas of Longview, TX.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Edward Bussey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday December 20, 2004 from 5:30 pm until 7 pm.
