David Bolls' Obituary
David Bolls was born on September 10, 1948, in Jackson, Mississippi. He died on August 17,
2010. David was a fighter who clung doggedly to life. Having been diagnosed in March of 2007 with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer, he nonetheless refused to allow the disease to conquer him until he finally succumbed on August 17, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mildred Bolls, and his younger brother, John Mark Bolls. He is survived by a brother, Kenneth Bolls of Dallas; another brother, Jim Bolls and wife, Sharon, of Longview, and their two children, Michelle and Alicia Bolls, and his best friend, Rob Foster of Longview.
David spent his early years on the family farm near Danville in Gregg County. He completed senior high school in Houston. Thereafter, he attended Texas Tech University, graduated from the University of Houston, and did his postgraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping.
His family and friends gratefully acknowledge the wonderful and compassionate care provided to David by Margaret?s House, Dr. Margaret Schottstaedt, and her staff. The family requests that donations in David?s memory be made to Beacon Hospice at Margaret?s House, 5016 Gilmer Road, Longview, Texas, 75604.
Memorial services will be 2 PM Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shanna Suarez officiating.
