David Andrew Pipak's Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for David Andrew Pipak of Hallsville, will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00 am, Father Mark Dunne officiating.
David passed away at home, December 11, 2011 with his loving family at his side. David was born February 19, 1957 in Longview, Texas to Joseph and Gloria Pipak. He graduated from Longview High School and has been a loyal employee of Texas Eastman Company for the last 32 years.
On April 25, 1981 he married the love of his life, May. They made their home in Hallsville and became a big part of the community there. Together they raised four children, Joshua, Justin, Rachel and Katy. He was a devoted family man, having the love and respect of his family was most important to him.
With his infectious smile and outgoing spirit, he enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. David loved the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling or gardening…..he just loved being outside. Hunting with his daughters, goose hunts with his sons, family and friends and his dove hunting trips to Chukar Ridge Ranch in west Texas with his son-in-law Aaron were events he looked forward to each year. He had a passion for cooking, with an open door policy, everyone was always welcome at the Pipaks. The annual event that everyone looked forward to was David's famous crawfish boil. From the time he was a young man, David had a love for sports. He always looked for ways to be involved whether it was playing, coaching, being a board member or an official. Texas Longhorns have never had a bigger fan than David Pipak, a love that he passed on to his son Joshua, and grandson Hunter.
"I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7
David lost his battle with cancer after only 42 days, but his strength and courage and above all, his faith never wavered. All his life, he worried more about others than he ever did himself. He will be missed beyond measure.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife, May Pipak. Sons, Joshua Pipak and wife Jennifer, Justin Pipak and wife Molly, his daughters Rachel Pipak and Katy Pipak Williams and husband Aaron and his "Special" son Jason Little. The light in his life, his grandchildren Hunter Ryan Pipak and Shyanne Dawn Pipak. He is also survived by loving parents Joseph and Gloria Pipak, his brothers and sisters, Joey Pipak and wife Lisa, Elizabeth Dukes, Steve Pipak and wife Stacey, Daniel Pipak and wife Lynne and Julie Pipak. "Special" sister-in- law and life long friend, Janie Roberts and husband George and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and his constant companion Sadie.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of those who took time to share their thoughts, their prayers and give comfort and inspiration to David and the family through Caring Bridge. It was a constant source of comfort to him to know so many were praying for him. We are forever thankful. They would also like to thank the many doctors and nursing staff at Good Shepherd and Baylor that tried so hard to help him win this fight.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM.
