Dave Henderson's Obituary
Services for Dave Henderson, 75, of Longview will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday July 24, 2007.
He was born October 26, 1931 in Dalas, Texas to Douglas Henderson and Willie Glover of Henderson. He died July 21, 2007.
He was the owner of and appliance and refrigeration repair business for 50 years. He had also taught courses in appliance repair at Kilgore College.
Dave was an avid basketball fan, and was a floor marshall at the annual State Basketball Tournament in Austin, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Patsy, sons and daughrterse-in-law, Danny and Anna Henderson, son, David Henderson, daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Kenny Birkes, Honey and Scott Lacy and step-children, Stephen Gaddis, Jim and Charlinda Gary, and Katie Reid. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Jo Henderson.
Dave loved being a lay chaplain at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. He talked to cancer patients and touched many lives in a caring way.
His body has been donated to Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas for research purposes.
Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, the Newnham Class of First United Methodist Church or to the Anerican Cancer Society.
