Danny "PawPaw" Tubbs' Obituary
Royal Danny Tubbs, 80, of White Oak, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, with his loving family by his side.
Danny was born April 23, 1942, in Collins, Arkansas to Carl and Viola Beatrice Tubbs. He grew up in the Delta of Mississippi and was raised by his beloved sister Billie Jean. Danny met his bride, Rhee, in Cleveland Mississippi, and soon after they married in December of 1961. They had 4 sons, Mike, Jeff, Greg, and Chris. Danny worked as a butcher the majority of his life. He accepted a union position with Safeway in 1976 and moved his family to East Texas. Rhee and Danny called White Oak their forever home since moving to Texas. He enjoyed most listening to Rhee read the Bible out loud to him, making willow furniture, building birdhouses, spending time with his family on the back porch, training dogs, and coon hunting. Danny was known for his willow furniture, and bird houses. He was a prayer warrior and spread the word of God any chance that he was given. Some of the best memories with him includes, teaching his grandchildren to drive, raising chickens and goats with Lyndsie, coon hunting with lifelong friends, and attending art shows with the love of his life.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Marie Tubbs, parents, and brother Wayne Tubbs. He leaves behind his loving sons, Mike and Olga Hammond, Jeff and Sherry Tubbs, Chris and Kim Tubbs, and Greg Tubbs; siblings, Billie Jean, and Ernie Tubbs; niece, Tracy Henson; nephew, Kevin Ellis; grandchildren, Austin, Carmen, Lauren, Lyndsie, Dustin, Ashlyn, Skylar, Josh, Johnny, Kayla, Tony, Sophia, and Stephen; great grandchildren, Kolbee, Tyson, Tate, Mila Monroe, Barrett, Kimber, Hunter, Kenna, Joie, Blakely; and an abundance of loved nieces, nephews, family, and lifelong friends.
Graveside services will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Old White Oak Cemetery in White Oak starting at 1pm. Officiating will be Pastor John Howze of Pure Heart Ministries in Gilmer, TX.
Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
