Danny R. Owen's Obituary
Danny R. Owen, 63, of Shreveport, LA died on April 5, 2012 as the result of an extended battle with Cancer. He was born on October 4, 1948 in Hopkinsville, KY to Winfield and Louise Owen. He was a hard worker and an accomplished salesman. Danny dedicated the last 13 years working for Krispy Kreme Donuts as a sales manager.
He loved his job and worked hard to provide the best for his family. When he wasn't working, he spent his time spoiling his grandchildren. One of his favorite things to do with them was taking them to the boardwalk in Shreveport. They would shop and play games at the Bass Pro Shop and eat ice cream and candy all day. The little ones loved to ride the big red trolley over and over again.
He and his wife Thereisa would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on September 29, 2012. Together they have 2 sons and 9 wonderful grandchildren. Troy and Crystie Owen and their 4 sons, Jared, Erik, Ian and Sam of White Oak, TX; and Bryan and Teresa Owen and their 5 children, Samuel Haynes, Joshua, Kayla, Olivia, and Jonah of Longview. Danny's brother, Kenneth Dale Owen still makes his home in Hopkinsville, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Woodridge Baptist Church, 850 E. Bert Kouns, in Shreveport with Dr. Chuck McInturf officiating. Burial will follow at 4 PM at Rosewood Park in Longview.
Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM.
