Dan W. Jones' Obituary
Funeral services for Dan W. Jones, 85, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with the Rev. David English officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. He passed away Monday morning, March 13, 2012, at his residence in Longview.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born August 31, 1926, in Hallsville, Texas, to Dewey and Holly Mae Jones. He retired from Marathon LeTourneau Inc. as senior vice president of operations after 47 years of service. He was a member of the Talent Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Longview and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Inez Jones of Longview; his children, Bobby Jones and wife, Kathy, of Longview, Karen Brown and husband, John, of Gladewater, Marsha Thomas and husband, Bill, of Oakridge, Tenn., and Janis Burklin and husband, Clint, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; sister, Ina Jo Wright of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all Mr. Jones' doctors, nurses, caregivers and Heart'sWay Hospice for their loving care and attention.
