Dan Brown's Obituary
Funeral services for Dan Brown will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 5041 Estes Parkway, Longview, TX, on Wednesday December 16, 2015, at 10 a.m. .
Boyd Daniel (Dan) Brown was born April 13, 1950, in Jefferson City, TN. He died peacefully at his home on Lake Cherokee December 13, 2015.
Dan’s childhood years were spent in Dandridge, TN. When he was in junior high school, his parents moved to Longview, TX, where he graduated from high school in 1968. Shortly after high school graduation, Dan began working at Texas Eastman, where he continued to work for nearly 40 years.
Dan loved many things in life but all paled in comparison to the love which he had and constantly demonstrated for his family, his friends, and his Lord.
Family remaining on this earth, who will always treasure his memory, include his wife, Kathy, of Lake Cherokee, TX, his mother, Lois Wilson, of Longview, TX, his son, Chad Brown and wife Kim, of New Braunfels, TX, his daughter-in-law, Sandra Brown of San Antonio, TX, stepdaughter , Anne Herman and her husband Brian of Longview, TX, and stepdaughter, April Anderson and her husband Adam of Pritchett, TX. His grandchildren include Braden, Jake, Aiden, Jax, and Amia.
Dan’s memory also remains so treasured by his brother John Brown and wife Karen of Gladewater, TX, his sister, Linda Downing of Longview, TX, and his sister Krista Lovick and husband Bill of Atlanta, GA.
For a good portion of his life, Dan’s best friend was his twin brother, Sam, who preceded him in death, in 1986. .
Dan’s greatest loss in life was the death of his son, Seth Brown, this past May 12, 2015.
Dan was also preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.
Thank you to Dr. Frase, Texas Oncology, Longview, and Hearts Way Hospice, for their excellent care of Dan throughout his cancer illness.
The sanctuary at Trinity Baptist Church will be open at 9 a.m. If you would like to visit with immediate family, they will be available to hug and share with until 20 minutes prior to Dan’s service.
Dan’s life verse was Colossians 3:17. “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him”.
in lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Trinity Baptist Church. Dan would prefer you donating to the Celebrate Recovery Ministry, which was his personal area of ministry.
