Dale Alan Boddie's Obituary
Dale was called home to our Lord on 08/15/2024. Dale was a lifelong resident of Longview, Texas and graduated from Longview High School and attended Kilgore College and furthered his career path in the fire prevention field (automatic fire sprinklers and chemical fire suppression) and earned a degree from Penn State College in that field. Dale was then entered into an apprentice program in Local 669 and worked his way up to Journeyman status encompassing work sites all over the United States. His skills and job profession helped to save many lives, and he was proud to have contributed that to the public and mankind. Dale was recently recognized as 50-year dues paying Union member to local 669 as well and awarded several other title and certificates as well throughout his employment tenure.
Dale also served his country as a M.P. in Vietnam.
Dale’s hobbies were fishing, hunting, and target shooting, but also enjoyed metal working, welding and problem solving on mechanical and fabricating different things and enjoying several other hobbies as well. Dale was truly a “jack of all trades” and rarely would not be able to solve an issue that he ran across or voice an opinion on.
Dale is preceded in his death by his father, Lane C. Boddie Sr. and mother, Normalee Taylor Boddie; grandmother and grandfather Philip and Beulah Taylor, and Minnie Boddie and Albert Boddie and son, Darin Lee Boddie and Aunt Dorothy Boddie.
Dale is survived by his brother Lane Charles Boddie, Jr. and his wife Sandra Boddie, nephews Seth Alan Boddie and Noah Lane Boddie; daughter April, grandchildren Salvadore and Sierra and one great-grandchild.
Dale is also survived by cousins Tommy and Sissie Boddie, Gayle Noel, Bill Harrison, and Cathy Hawbaker, and uncle Alan Boddie and Aunt Cleo Boddie of Taylor Louisiana, and many other numerous cousins and family members.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to all his caregivers, Dr. Rangu and staff, and to Heart to Heart Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Longview Animal Care Society & Adoption Center or Animal Protection League.
