D. Allen Moore
Funeral services for D. Allen Moore, 87, of Gilmer will be held at Noon Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend James Berryhill officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the funeral home.
Mr. Moore was born on December 23, 1923 in Corsicana to Andrew and Murdis Moore. He passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 in a Longview hospital. Mr. Moore proudly served his country with the United States ARMY. He worked for Dearborn Stove for 32 years as a design engineer before going to work for Dresser Industries. He was the Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts Troop 556 in Dallas and attended Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter, Renee Michele Berryhill. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maudina Moore of Gilmer; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald H. Berryhill, Sr. and wife Nancy of Dallas, Robert G. Berryhill and wife Jackie of Gilmer, James M. Berryhill and wife Jeanne of Bogota, Columbia, grandchildren, Robert Michael Berryhill, Rhonda Kay Berryhill, Kimberly Denise Anderson, Ronald H. Berryhill, Jr., David Allen Berryhill, Esther Nicole Gomez; 13 great grandchildren; and brother, Milton Moore of Lake Whitney.
