Curtis Randle Tidwell's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Curtis Randle Tidwell, who entered eternal rest on May 17, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on September 29, 1960, in Jacksonville, Texas, Curtis was a cherished son of the late Harvey and Ora Tidwell. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of dedication and service that defined him throughout his life. Curtis was married to Renee Tidwell on March 6, 1994, and together they shared a life marked by love, laughter, and faith. He loved computer programming and working on computers. A devoted follower of the Bible, Curtis had an unwavering faith and was known to bless others with his warm words of "God Bless you," which reflected his generous spirit and genuine interest in the well-being of others. He enjoyed lively conversations and connected deeply with those he encountered.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Junior Tidwell, his sister Gloria Taylor, and his brother-in-law Timothy Collier.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Renee Tidwell; and stepdaughter, Anna Dodson Donnell, his four sisters, Dorothy Allen of Jefferson, Karen Hams of Longview, Margaret Elam of Jefferson, and Wanda Tidwell Weisinger; as well as brothers-in-law Tony Collier of Longview and Ted Collier of Gilmer, and sister-in-law Tracy Morris of Jefferson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas. Friends and family are welcome to gather to celebrate his life, sharing memories and offering support to one another during this difficult time. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and support received, and they invite all who knew Curtis to join in commemorating his legacy.
