Funeral services for Curtis Buel Long, 84, of Marshall, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in El Dorado, AR, with Father Charles Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery, El Dorado under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, 508 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, AR. He passed away Tuesday, February 1, in a Longview, TX nursing home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview and from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Young's Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Mr. Long was born July 18, 1926 in Homer, LA to Odus and Edna Long. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La where he received a bachelor's degree. He was a former general sales manager for Griffin Auto Company and Marks Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in El Dorado until 1980, when he became owner/operator of Curtis Long Ford-Lincoln Mercury in Camden, AR. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and was a member of the Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Peacock Long; daughter, Cherry Ann Long; and brother, Jimmie Earl Long.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Vicki Rienhardt and husband Dan of Marshall.
Pallbearers will be, Oliver Bass, William Bradley, Carl Bradley, Jim Golden, Mike Latimer and David Reynolds.
