Currie Roberts' Obituary
Currie "Tad" Roberts passed into her heavenly home on Wednesday evening with her family surrounding her. She lived her life fully even when dementia claimed her last few years. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 on Friday evening.
Tad was born November 18, 1923 at her parents' home in Boxelder, Texas, the sixth of nine children. She was married for 63 years to Milam Roberts. They made their home in various places in Texas including Clarksville and Mt. Pleasant before moving to Longview. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent many fun hours playing with her grandchildren and great-grandsons. She was a lifelong Methodist. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milam, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and John Phelps of Orange, Texas; daughter Joan Floyd of Longview, and son James M. Roberts of Longview. Also, surviving are her grandson and his wife John Allen and Stephanie of Buda, and granddaughter and her husband Kristina and Cristopher Robinson and their sons Michael and Zachary of San Antonio; sister Mary Catherine Grant of Boxelder, and brother Dr. J. E. Humphries of Longview along with numerous nieces and nephews.
