Cora Jones McQueen's Obituary
Graveside services for Mrs. Cora McQueen, 102, of Longview will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 6, at Cave Springs Cemetery in Marshall under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Dr. Richard Hollingsworth, pastor of Alpine Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Mrs. McQueen was born August 15, 1908 to Charley and Jodie Jones in the Cave Springs community south of Marshall. She passed away Saturday, December 4, in Longview.
She was a life long homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and lovingly caring for her family. One of her greatest joys was preparing for the many family gatherings of her children, grandchildren, and friends on special holidays.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Doris McQueen and Nita Gardner both of Longview and Janelle Cates of Mesquite; eight grandchildren: Jeanne Eaton of Mesquite, Tx, Patti Gray of Royse City, Tx, Bobby Bruner of Placerville, CA, Dennis Bruner of Royse City, Tx, Mary Anne Shaffer of Kingwood, Tx, Donna Klohn of Kingwood, Tx, Gary Miller of Quinlan, Tx, and Debbie Mead of Princeton, Tx. Also surviving are ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alvy Lee McQueen, a daughter, and a great grandson.
