Constance "Connie" Evelyn McCoy's Obituary
Constance “Connie” Evelyn Branson McCoy was born December 1, 1920 in Electra, Texas and passed away July 24, 2014 in Athens, Texas after a lengthy illness.
She married Frank C. McCoy January 6, 1937 and their union lasted until his death on September 25, 2001. Their 64 years together were spent traveling to most of the forty eight states in various cars, trucks and trailers with two children and two dogs, following the pipeline industry. Connie and Frank eventually settled down in Longview, Texas where she was office manager and bookkeeper for 20 years for their pipeline construction business. Their home was the meeting place for endless family gatherings filled with music, dancing, singing, storytelling and lots of good food.
Surviving Connie is her daughter, Paula Twining of Longview, Texas, and son, Arnold McCoy and wife, Linda, of Athens, Texas. Grandchildren also surviving are Jeff Twining, Steve Twining and wife, Lauren, Donald Twining and wife, Danette, Joe McCoy and wife, Kelli, and Julie Rike and husband, James. Great grandchildren are Jessica, Garret, Jake and Travis Twining , Ethan and Hannah Twining, Braxton, Brevin and Brittany McCoy and Skylar, Riley and Mia Rike. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews
Graveside services, officiated by her nephew, Pastor B.C. McCoy, will be held at Grace Hill Cemetery on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11 am. If desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
