Col. Young befriended my daughter, Erica, and son in law, Ramiro Roel, Jr when the newly weds became his neighbors in November. He was very nice to come and tell them how to do the rose bushes, etc. He was excited that a young couple had purchased the home. They enjoyed visiting with him. They learned of his death as they were leaving on Thursday morning. My youngest son had purchased a pickup, but it did not arrive until he had to return to San Diego. He visited with Mr Young, also. He is, 21, and a Sgt in the USMC who has been stationed in Okinawa for two years. My daughter,son in law and granddaughter, Gracie, will miss his visits. They did not realize that he was sick and had wondered where he was. They knew that he was military, but were very impressed when they learned of his accomplishments and his service to his country. Our prayers are with his family at this time of need.
