Colin Matthew Duffey's Obituary
Colin Matthew Duffey passed away on Thursday night in a local hospital. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service at Rosewood Park.
Colin was born on February 24, 1997 in Longview. He was baptized at a young age and became a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. He was a 2015 graduate of Spring Hill High School. The last few years he enjoyed spending time with his adored girlfriend, Rebecca. Colin was a video game enthusiast and liked all genres of music. He enjoyed watching movies & sports like Football & Nascar with his Dad and friends, but Sunday nights were spent watching favorite TV shows with his brother, Connor. He also had a love for animals, especially his cat, Gretchen and various reptiles.
Colin will always be remembered for his quick & witty personality and the ability to make people laugh. His fun loving spirit and beautiful smile will be cherished by all.
Colin had a huge heart for everyone and recently demonstrated that by being an Organ Donor. “Without the organ donor, there is no story, no hope, no transplant. But when there is an organ donor, life springs from death, sorrow turns to hope and a terrible loss becomes a gift.”
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ralph Vernon Salter and his maternal great grandmother, Pat Reese.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Craig Duffey; his mother, Tracy Webb and her husband Mike; his brother Connor Duffey; his maternal grandmother, Suzanne “Mimi” Garrett; paternal grandparents Barbara Duffey, and Bill and Marge Duffey; aunts and uncles, Susan Duffey, and Lynn and Bob Lewis; his cousins Alyssa Arnett and Blake Duffey; and his dear girlfriend, Rebecca Boatwright.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Dr.’s and Nurses in the ER and ICU at Longview Regional and to the Southwest Organ Donation Team. Memorial donations can be made to SAMHSA, Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services or The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
