Cody Rittermeyer's Obituary
How do you say goodbye to a treasure such as Cody Ryan Rittermeyer? God created this funny, unique force of nature on October 10th, 1991 in Kansas City Missouri and called him home to glory on July 18th, 2016 in Longview Texas. Although his life was short, Cody lived it to the fullest. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 2010, and continued his education at TSTC in Marshall Texas. Cody was activie in sports, developing a deep love of basketball. He treasured his friends and team mates, and although his circle of friends was small, if you were lucky enough to be in it, he was your staunch defender for life. Cody lived in Texas most of his life but loved going Kansas City and spending time with relatives. He was a huge Kansas City Chief and Jayhawks fan. He cherished going to the football games at Arrowhead Stadium with his Dad. Cody had a special passion for writing music, utilizing his talents as a lyricist, song writer, singer, and rapper. After graduation, Cody started and operated his own lawn care business.
Cody is preceded in death by grandparents Dot and Walt Dillard of Longview, Al and Carolyn Rittermeyer of Kansas City, and Uncle Mike Rittermeyer of Kansas City.
Cody is survived by his mother, Amy Rittermeyer of Longview, his father Marshall Rittermeyer and his wife Robin of Kansas City. Aunts and Uncles include Beth and Michael Chrismer of Longview, Mat and Linda Rittermeyer of Del Rio TX, Mark and MaryAnn Rittermeyer of Lakeland FL, and ‘Uncle’ Maggie Rittermeyer of Kansas City. In addition, Cody has many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, including Chaska and Andy Norwood of Dallas, Courtney Rittermyer, Gary Rittermeyer, Nikki Snyder, and Vinny Wilkins of Kansas City to name just a few of the many that he loved and cherished.
A memorial service for Cody will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview. There will be a visitation prior to the service starting at 11 am.
