Clyde R. Valdetero
Clyde R. Valdetero, 67, of Kilgore passed away Friday morning January 22, 2016 in Longview. He was born September 21, 1948, in Gladewater, Texas to the late Isaac “Ike” and Annie Valdetero.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Janice Grafton Valdetero; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Wendy Valdetero of Kilgore and son, Corey Valdetero of Kilgore; grandchildren, Marlee and Landry Valdetero of Kilgore; sister, Alice Duncan of Gladewater; mother-in-law, Elouise Grafton of Kilgore; sisters-in-law, Marsha Valdetero of Gladewater and Beth Grafton of Richardson; brother-in-law, Jerry Grafton of Kilgore; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Charles Valdetero and sisters, Mary Ann Porter and Doris Marie Valdetero.
Clyde was a proud supporter of the Kilgore Bulldogs and the Kilgore Rangers. He played a vital role as a Kilgore High School Booster Club member for numerous years, recent known as the “horn master”. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Kilgore and the Masters class.
Clyde was a 1968 graduate of Gladewater High School. After graduation, he and his brother Charles team drove cattle and feed trucks. He attended mortuary school and there after worked for the Rader Funeral Homes in Kilgore and Longview for over 30 years. He retired in 2011. Since then he has enjoyed time with his family, precious grandchildren and Wednesday night prayer group.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, at the First Baptist Church of Kilgore with Dr. Pete Freeman, Reverend David Hampton and Dr. Glenn Young officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
