Clyde Thomas Knight
Funeral services for Clyde Knight, 84, are scheduled to be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with Dale Perkins and Scott Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Knight died Sunday, June 15 at a local hospital. Mr. Knight was born November 15, 1923 in Forreston, TX. After serving his country in the United States Navy during World War II, Mr. Knight and his wife of 62 years, the former Ozelle Hinson, moved to the Longview area in 1959. They recently moved back to Longview after 25 years at Lake Cherokee. Mr. Knight retired from East Texas Bank and Trust in 1984. He is survived by his wife Ozelle; daughter Carol Watson of San Francisco, California; son Donald of Hallsville; son Robert and wife Patti of Arlington; son Jim and wife Adrienne of Wichita, Kansas; and son Tommy and wife Lisa, of Longview. He is also survived by five grandchildren--Eric and Steve Knight, Adam Hamill, and Austin and Erin Knight--two great grandchildren, Braedon Sims and Audrey Knight; four sisters and one brother. Mr. Knight was quite fond of his new neighbors at Paverstone Townhouses and was deemed Sheriff of Paverstone in 2006. They and all his many friends will miss him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Longview AMBUCS, P.O. Box 3092, Longview, Texas 75606, or a charity of personal choice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Rader Funeral Home.
