Mr. & Mrs. Seewald hired me to help remodel an old Lakehouse into their main home many years ago. After learning that we shared Boerne connections we went to work.
We developed plans and set to work on what was a very fun project. We made good progress until I did something which displeased Mr. Seewald. I cannot remember what it was, but I do remember he ask for a late afternoon meeting on site with me.
I arrived early and was waiting for Mr. Seewald to arrive. He drove up in his small pickup, walked up to me, looked at me, looked at the ground, looked at me again and said “I am very disappointed.”. Then he turned around walked back to his truck and drove off.
Needless to say that cut more than a cussing and I got to work to make things right.
A great man, client and friend!

My older brother Clyde graduated from Boerne High School in the Texas Hill Country when he was 16 years old. He was the Valedictorian of his high school class and a captain on the football team. He played Outside Linebacker on defense and probably weighed about 140 pounds. His teammates nicknamed him “Tiger”. His coach said if he had been any bigger he would have been afraid to play him. I’m not sure if he was joking or not.
Growing up on our family farm and ranch East of Boerne Clyde and I had many adventures: taking two days to build a log raft that sank on its maiden voyage, lighting the gunpowder from a shotgun shell on a flat rock and escaping with only singed eyebrows and eyelashes, and hunting small game with a single shot 22 rifle.
After earning bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Texas, Clyde a very successful career as a Petroleum Geologist. If you knew Clyde you would know that he was a quiet person who almost never spoke of his many accomplishments unless asked directly.
He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
I will miss him.
