Clyde Elmo Allen's Obituary
Clyde Elmo Allen age 84, passed away July 14, 2012 at the Heritage in Longview.
He was born July 26, 1927 in Harrison Co, TX to Oscar Odell and Lula Gladys Riley Allen.
Clyde worked for Roy Wilson Transfer and Storage, Longview Fire Dept.
Clyde was an owner and operator of an Exxon Service Station then worked for Transpersonnel at Stroh's Brewery and East Texas Mack until he retired in 2005.
Clyde was a member of the BPOE Elks, Woodman of the World, Civitan Club and was past president of the Longview CB Club.
PaPaw enjoyed playing dominoes and checkers with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing and watching the Cowboys and Rangers play ball.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Ella Grace Corley Allen, daughters; Linda Sumrow of Longview, Mary Jo Widemon and her husband Roy of Longview,
Sons: Bobby E. Allen and his wife Terri of Henderson, Richard W. Allen and his wife Sarah of Longview, Daughter-in-law Robbin Allen, grandchildren, Andrew Sumrow, William Allen, John Allen, Lisa Allen Sagebiel, Anna Allen Hardman, Joshua Allen and Rachel Allen, Great Grandchildren; Bryson Sumrow, Brooklynn Sumrow, Briah Allen, Dominic Allen, and Shailea Audas, Sisters: Maudie Owens of Longview, Nellie Jackson of Hallsville, and Norma Andrews of Shelbyville, TX.
Clyde is preceded in passing by his son, Johnny Clyde "Bill" Allen, grandson, Robert Collie Allen, his parents, brothers, Charlie and Melvin, Sister Ida Belle Hawthorn and infant sister Ruby Jean Allen.
There will be a time of visitation at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 6 pm-8pm then funeral services the next day, Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the funeral home at 2pm. Interment to follow at Rosewood Park, Longview
