Clyde Bryant "Babe" Dickard's Obituary
Services for Clyde Bryant “Babe” Dickard, 79, of Hallsville will be held at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church on Monday, March 24 at 10 am with Dr. Danny Warbington officiating. Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Sunday from 5 to 7 pm. Clyde passed into glory in Longview on Friday, March 21, surrounded by his loving family and precious friends.
Babe was born in Hallsville on March 31, 1934 to his loving parents, Clyde Bascum and Jessie Viola Dickard. He graduated from Hallsville High School in 1951. Upon graduation Clyde served on our nation’s armed services as a member of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Dickard married the love of his life, Helen Sloan, on March 21, 1958, and she was his entire world until his death. Clyde worked for Texas Eastman for 34 years retiring in 1991. Following his retirement from Texas Eastman, Babe worked as a driver for Enterprise Rent-a-Car. He was a member of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Dickard was preceded in death by both of his loving parents, Clyde Bascum and Jessie Viola Dickard, as well as his brother, Jerry Dickard. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Helen Dickard; son, Scott Dickard and wife Sherry, and Mark Dickard; daughter, Lisa Stephens and husband Bill; grandchildren, Chase, and Colton Dickard; great-grandchild, Wade Dickard; brother, Billie Dickard and wife Jimmie; sister Essie Petty and husband Ray; sisters-in-law, Shirley Walter, and Ellen Wilson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mulberry Springs Baptist Church, 16376 FM 449, Hallsville, TX 75650, as well as Texas Home Health Hospice.
