Clovesta Martin Hall's Obituary
Clovesta “Clo” Lea Martin, 100, was born on July 25, 1917, in the Crafton community near Chico, Texas to Pearl Thompson Martin and Isiah “Harry” Martin. She passed away October 20, 2017, in Longview at Summer Meadows Nursing Home. She was preceded in her death by her parents, her husband Thomas “Bowman” Hall, son Thomas Hall Jr, daughter-in-law Karen Hall, and brothers and sisters Jack, Bernice, Hardy, Lola, Leota, Arro, Lucille, Ruth, and Leonard.
She lived for many years in Fort Worth as a housewife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She moved to Longview in 2006. Clo also lived in Riverside, CA. and Austin, TX.
She is survived by two children, son Walter, son Ralph with wife Patricia, grandchildren Benjamin Hall with wife Sallie Knox, Heather Spears with husband Chris, Sarah Hall with husband Jason Wiles, and David Hall with wife Jamie, sister Bonnie Thompson, and sister Betty Jones with husband John O. Jones, and greatgrandchildren Weatherly Hall, Bowman Hall, Owen Hall, Silas Hall, Maxine Spears, and Chloe Wiles. Additionally she is survived by many nephews and nieces and their families.
She was a member of the Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Worth and later relocated to Edge Park United Methodist Church.
Her interests included sewing, quilting, cooking, bird watching and being around and communicating with her family.
Clo was the epitome of a sweet grandma. Her grandchildren adored her. She was always so cheerful and doting. Her grandchildren used to love to visit Clo and Bowman in the summer and go to the zoo, to feed the ducks, to get snow cones, and to eat ice cream.
Her family and extended family was one of tradition using Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Clo, Uncle Bowman, with nephews and nieces often called by both first and middle names.
A graveside memorial service led by Reverend Nathan Tucker will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday October 25 at Shannon Rose Hill, Mount Moriah Section, 7301 East Lancaster, Fort Worth, TX.
